New mountain bike: Novara Bonanza

Novara BonanzaAfter much deliberation and way too much online research I finally bit the bullet and treated myself to a new mountain bike - the Novara Bonanza hard tail made for REI.

My previous bike is over 13 years old and was in desperate need of some serious restoration to get it back to being fully functional. The estimates I received were so high that I was quickly convinced my money would be better spent on buying a new bike and leap into the 20th century with regards to the advancements in bike components that have been made.

The bonanza has a great components line-up such as an incredibly rugged 6061-grade aluminum frame, SRAM X5 derailleurs and shifters, RockShox Dart suspension front forks, Truvativ LE handlebar and XR 3D stem, and Tektro Aquila vented disc breaks. My old bike had center-pull breaks :)

I haven't had much seat time on this baby since Saturday, but I plan to change that ASAP! The nice folks at REI even fitted my new bicycle computer for free as I had it handy - so I'm all set. Can't wait to get it muddy!
